School is back and so is LEBA

By, Paulina Garza

We are happy to bring one of LEBA’s first generation members and former UT Economics graduate, Rodrigo Juarez. Upon graduating in 2010 he started working in management consulting with Sintec. Sintec is the leading consulting firm for generating profitable growth in leading Latin American companies through their holistic Customer and Operations Strategies. With more than 300 projects in commercial, operations/supply chain strategies and more than 100 leading companies in 14 Latin American countries, Sintec is the consulting firm with the most experience in Latin America on these subjects.
Despite pursuing a degree in Economics, Rodrigo maintained a passion for Architecture and took heavy load of coursework in architectural theory at the UT School of Architecture, leading him to open his own firm, Barco Estudio, with two other architects after working for two years with Sintec.

As a means to achieving his personal and professional goals, Rodrigo decided to pursue a Masters in Business Administration. He is now a student at Stanford Graduate School of Business and the youngest Latin American in his class. He is set to complete his MBA in 2015 with a certificate in Social Innovation.

Before heading to Silicon Valley for his graduate education, he and his colleagues are on the verge of launching a very exciting project in San Cristobal, Chiapas, Mexico. Following Barco Estudio’s philosophy on observing the social setting, appreciating natural resources while protecting the environment, these young and innovative architects are designing a sustainable hotel in the San Cristobal area. With their design, they plan to celebrate Chiapas traditions and enrich its natural beauty along with communicating its beautiful art history.

Rodrigo will be speaking about why an MBA was the next step in his career, the process of applying to an MBA program, and why he chose Stanford. He will also be talking about how Architecture can be used as a social driver in order to provide hope to entire communities.

Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to learn more about Rodrigo and how just like him, we can make our dreams come true if we really want to and dedicate ourselves to it. To learn more about his firm, feel free visit
